Donors in January & February 2026

Thank you to each and every donor. You are the reason that IAHPC is able to take concrete actions at every level to nurture and support palliative care globally, but especially in lower-income countries.

IAHPC receives zero funding from corporate sponsors. We rely on memberships, donations, and project-specific grants to support palliative care internationally. Every donation, no matter how small, is a crucial component to sustain our work to relieve health-related suffering for people at the end-of-life or those with life-limiting conditions.

Some of IAHPC's initiatives and events in January and February that donations fuelled:

  • IAHPC Scholarships for selected attendees of two national conferences held in February: the Indian Association of Palliative Care conference, and the Kenya Hospice and Palliative Care Association conference.
  • IAHPC cohosted an open-access January webinar, and was part of the expert panel, on “From Resolution to Reality: Strengthening the WHO ECO Framework for Safe Surgery, Anesthesia, Critical Care, and Pediatric Care.”
  • IAHPC organized and hosted an open-access February webinar on "Bearing the Pain of the Other: A Call to Compassion in Care."
  • Organization of a side event in March at the Commission on Narcotic Drugs. The topic: helping member states implement their commitments on controlled medicines.
  • Development of a course starting in April: Advancing Palliative Care in Healthcare Settings.
  • Under the guidance of IAHPC's Senior Director of Advocacy and Partnerships, member volunteers attended and/or participated in meetings during January and February, including the WHO Executive Board meeting.
  • Participation in the first meeting of an intergovernmental working group to begin drafting a Human Rights Council treaty on the rights of older persons. IAHPC is working to include the right to palliative care.

Odonata Care was created by a pair of registered nurses in the United States whose purpose is to "empower caregivers to provide compassionate hospice care." Caregivers can find dozens of their short "How to" videos on YouTube, including advice on repositioning a turn sheet, when to know to stop dialysis, managing pain without opioids, and more.
