Why IAHPC Is Rated a Top Nonprofit, Again!
IAHPC has maintained its status as a top-rated nonprofit in the category of health care, as determined by Great Nonprofits, a US-based organization. This designation reflects the dozens of five-star reviews posted independently by people who laud IAHPC for inspiring, informing, and empowering individuals, governments, and organizations to increase access to palliative care as well as optimize its practice. Here are just two examples:
“[At IAHPC,] they manage to touch countless lives through education, leadership development and advocacy efforts in ways that marshal their resources very wisely. —Steven Radwany
“IAHPC has been a great partner for many LMICs [low- and middle-income countries] advocating for access to affordable palliative care services and pain-relieving medications, giving direction and technical support when needed. Keep up the great work!” —Zipporah Ali
Even Top-Rated Nonprofits Need Support
IAHPC’s annual fundraising campaign is on throughout December, so you get to “enjoy” the website’s popup for a few more weeks. We are nearly halfway to our goal of $150,000, and truly there is no donation too small. Your donation doesn’t just fund palliative care research, public awareness, global action, and practical webinars and courses for frontline workers and advocates. Those who choose to donate are proof that all of these—all our efforts to relieve health-related suffering—are both necessary and valuable.

IAHPC Newsletter Changes to Reflect New Realities
By Liliana De Lima, IAHPC Executive Director; and
Alison Ramsey, IAHPC Newsletter Editor
Many palliative care organizations are facing financial challenges, and the IAHPC is no exception. While current realities have forced us to trim our 2024 budget, we are committed to keeping readers of this newsletter informed. The result is a new, leaner format for the newsletter that will be tested internally in January (there will be no issue that month). Our goal is to produce useful articles for our members—who are advocates and frontline workers—using a modernized vehicle.
The newsletter began as printed copies mailed to members. Its basic structure, a series of features delivered in a single batch to subscribers, has remained the same over decades. We are grateful to the large readership of the newsletter, but also recognize that reading habits have changed. We look forward to your feedback about the new newsletter format, which will be launched in February. We hope that you will enjoy it just as much as this one, or even more!

The document, a free download, “is designed to enhance the resilience of health systems while simultaneously reducing greenhouse gas emissions to help safeguard the health of communities worldwide.” It addresses 10 points over 35 pages.
