Your Reasons for Joining the IAHPC Influence Our Programs
By Genevieve Napier
IAHPC Programs Director
For the past year, the IAHPC has included this question on our membership application: Why did you join? Your answers help us understand the needs of our members, and influence the type of programs we support.
You, our members, have identified three main reasons for joining the IAHPC: 1) networking/collaboration with peers, 2) access to resources and information, and 3) advocacy. Members made the following comments, arranged here by category:

- Desire to be kept informed of global developments within palliative care.
- As a palliative provider, I wanted to learn more from the experts around the world.
- Continuing knowledge.
- Increase my knowldge and practice in palliative care.
- To be able to access resources.
Advocacy
- IAHPC is one of the big groups of palliative care advocates that nurtures learning and promotion of palliative care.
- Interest in international access to palliative care.
- My interests and expertise are developing more in the global hospice and palliative care movement.
