IAHPC Membership Matters
Deadlines set for 23 Traveling Scholarships to 3 conferences: EAPC, Oceanic PC Conference, and African PC Conference
- Ten (10) scholarships to support the travel of palliative care workers to attend the 16th World Annual European Association of Palliative Care Congress in Berlin, Germany, from 23-25 May 2019. Deadline to apply is 31 December 2018. Results will be announced in late January 2019.
- Eight (8) scholarships to support the travel of palliative care workers to attend the Oceanic Palliative Care Conference in Perth, Australia, from 10-13 September 2019. Deadline to apply is 10 May 2019. Results will be announced in early June 2019.
- Five (5) scholarships to support the travel of palliative care workers to attend the African Palliative Care Association Conference in Kigali, Rwanda, from 17-20 September 2019. Deadline to apply is 10 May 2019. Results will be announced in early June 2019.
Each $US2,000 scholarship is to be used for registration and travel expenses. Winners will need to supply funding for other expenses. Applicants from all disciplines are welcome. To apply, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- You have not received a grant from IAHPC in the past 3 years.
- You are a current IAHPC member when applying, as well as at the time of the conference. If you wish to apply and are not an IAHPC member, join by clicking here.
Preference is given to:
- IAHPC active members (minimum: 2 consecutive years)
- Institutions that are IAHPC active members (consult the list)
- Applicants living in lower, lower-middle, and upper-middle income categories as per the World Bank income classification data
- Full-time palliative care workers
- Those who graduated university less than 10 years ago
- Applicants with an accepted abstract for oral or poster presentation (proof is required)
- Applicants who describe, in their application, long-term goals that lead to improvements in one or more of these areas: service provision, education, availability of and access to medicines, public policy
