Welcome to the October issue of the IAHPC Newsletter. Writing in the Policy and Advocacy column, Dr. Oumar Ba explains how Senegal is taking important steps to implement opioid analgesics while this month’s Featured Article is from IAHPC Board Director, Dr. Mhoira Leng, who has been visiting some of the world’s most vulnerable communities. Her article is very relevant to the theme of this year’s World Hospice and Palliative Care Day, Hidden Lives/Hidden Patients – we wish you all a very successful and enjoyable World Day on Saturday. Meanwhile, in the Global Palliative Care Community Highlights column, Rev’d. Varghese Abraham from India also reminds us of what it means to be ‘hidden’.
