Argentina – new palliative care book for primary care professionals

Dr Graciela Jacob, Coordinator of Palliative Care at the National Cancer Institute of Argentina, introduces an important new resource for Spanish-speaking countries

The palliative care program of the National Cancer Institute of Argentina has just published a handbook of palliative care for primary care professionals, (‘Manual de cuidados paliativos para la atención primaria de la salud’). 1.

The book is designed as a tool to train primary care physicians in the continuing, comprehensive and integrated care of cancer patients. You’re welcome to download a copy.

Paediatric Palliative Care – Charlie’s story

A new short film from Little Stars, the fourth in the series, was released early in January. The film, entitled ‘Charlie’s story’, tells the story of a 4-year-old boy with a life-limiting condition and how his family and a strong palliative care team support him. This film stars Charlie, his sister Ali and parents Liz and Dave and also features Dr John Collins, Head of Service, The Department of Pain Medicine and Palliative Care Service at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead (NSW Australia).
