IAHPC Member’s Recognition Program

IAHPC benefits every day from the hard work of our members who are devoted to the advancement of hospice and palliative care worldwide. Members exemplify a continuing commitment to patient care, improved education and favorable policies, consistent with our mission.

We are delighted to announce as we did last year, that IAHPC designated October as our Members’ Recognition Month in order to build awareness and understanding of the vital function that our members play in the advancement of our mission as well as to formally acknowledge their support.

IAHPC will be giving a prize in the following two categories:

1. Recognizing Loyalty:

Goal: to maintain the loyalty of members by giving a prize to an individual(s) or institution(s) who keep their memberships active.

Conditions:
The prize will be a Mini iPad™ 32GB Wi-Fi. Prize will be assigned through a raffle among the members that meet the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility:
Open to current IAHPC members (individuals and institutions) in all countries of the world. Institutions may be represented by a single designated individual. Having been a member of IAHPC for at least 2 consecutive years by September 30th, 2013. IAHPC board members, staff, and their relatives are not eligible to participate.

2. Increasing Membership:

Goal: to increase the number of members by giving a prize to the current member who brings the highest number of new or renewed members until October 31, 2013.

Conditions:
The prize will be a Mini iPad™ 32GB Wi-Fi (prize may vary every year). The current member who brings the highest number of new or renewed members will be the winner.

Eligibility:
Open to current IAHPC members (individuals and institutions) in all countries of the world. Institutions may be represented by a single designated individual. IAHPC staff members, relatives, directors, contractors and vendors are not eligible to participate.

Winners will be announced the week of November 17th, 2013.

Supportive and palliative care conference at MD Anderson Cancer Center

Caring for the cancer patient in the advanced stage of illness is particularly challenging to the healthcare team. This and many other topics will be discussed at the 17th Annual Interdisciplinary Conference on Supportive Care, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, October 11th-12th , 2013, at The University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Main Building, Floor 11, Hickey Auditorium (R11.1400).

This year’s featured speaker is Sebastiano Mercadante, MD, from University of Palermo, a world renowned expert in the field of Pain and Palliative care, who will address the key developments in the field of palliative care in the last decade. Other notable speakers include, Mary Lynn McPherson, Pharm D, BCPS who will address how to avoid common pharmaco-mistakes in patients with advanced disease.

This conference is preceded by the Intensive Board Review Course in Hospice and Palliative Medicine October 8-10, 2013. This course would be a great opportunity to update your skills in the field of palliative care.

The ICPCN is pleased to announce its very first conference, in partnership with Tata Memorial Hospital, India.
