Volume 23, Number 4: April 2022

Dear Readers,

This issue marks the 26th anniversary of the IAHPC Newsletter!

We are very proud of our newsletter, but most of all we appreciate the work of those who have contributed for so many years to the content and made possible our monthly publication.

The newsletter has proven to be a wonderful tool to disseminate a broad range of information and increase awareness about hospice and palliative care around the world. It has served as a tool for many of you to learn about new developments and events, and also to bring attention to your own programs, the challenges that many of you face, and the progress that thousands have been able to achieve.

We also thank the many contributors and board members who supply us with outstanding content throughout the year. We are especially grateful with those who contribute to every single edition, including Dr. Katherine Pettus, for her column on policy and advocacy, and Dr. Tania Pastrana, for her column on research of special note. Thanks to Ms. Alison Ramsey for editing the newsletter. And we also remember Dr. Roger Woodruff, one of the founders of the IAHPC, who passed away last year and whose monthly book reviews were an amazing and popular feature for decades.

Many thanks as well to our members and readers who honor us by subscribing and submitting news and articles about their efforts and developments in their countries. We welcome articles that describe your progress and the programs that you are implementing in your countries, as well as news from your region. Your articles enrich our newsletter and are a crucial part of our mission to facilitate communication. Please contact Alison to submit a piece for our newsletter.

Thanks also to our webmaster, Mr. Danilo Fritzler, for his excellent work in formatting and distributing the newsletter. Each month Danilo receives a newsletter file from Alison, transforms it into an online version, creates an email version (an illustrated table of contents) for those who subscribe, then sends it to our nearly 8,000 subscribers!

Until next month,
