IAHPC Traveling Scholar’s Report from Pakistan
It was a great pleasure and honour for me to attend the Asia Pacific Hospice Conference in Perth, Australia during September, 2009. First it was a very well attended and organised conference. I particularly enjoyed the sessions I attended and meeting with other palliative care professionals from across Asia. I learned about many new and exciting programmes being implemented. This is particularly important for me as I have been working in Pakistan for more than 8 years. This opportunity permitted me to network and more fully understand the cultural norms of the various societies including commonalities and differences across the asia Pacific region. I presented an oral presentation and two posters. It was a great opportunity for me to share the palliative care activities that are occurring in Pakistan. I am grateful to the IAHPC for making my attendance at this significant conference possible.
Thank you.
