From the  American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Dear Patient Advocate: Last year, ASCO introduced  the 2008 Expressions of Hope wall calendar showcasing artwork by those whose  lives have been affected by cancer. We are pleased to announce that we  will be continuing this project and would like to invite you and others  (patients, friends, family members, caregivers, etc.) to submit artwork  for our 2009 Expressions of Hope calendar.  
 Artwork Specifications:
 All artwork must be submitted by May 31, 2008
 Artwork must not have been previously published
 Artwork may be submitted on paper or canvas any size up to 16" x 20"
 Artwork must be one dimensional.  Mediums may include but are not limited  to oil, watercolor, charcoals, acrylics, pencil, pen and ink, crayon, etc.
 All artwork will be returned.  ASCO cannot be responsible for any damages  incurred during shipment.

 Nominations are being solicited for  those social workers in the areas of research, education, practice and policy  whose contributions have reached far and wide in providing quality care to the  seriously ill, dying and bereaved.
 
 This unique Project on Death in America (PDIA) Social Work Leadership Award,  made possible by the Open Society Institute, has been presented by SWHPN to 2  outstanding social work leaders: Debra Parker Oliver in 2007 and Shirley  Otis-Green in 2008.
 
 The award includes a monetary grant of $1,000, publishing opportunities and  travel expenses to present the work at a selected conference.
